BIOGRAPHY

The Wells were one of my musical finds of 2008/09, and Feeling Automatic cements them as one of THE best things to burst onto a wider listening public from Woodford Folk Festival and from Queensland as a whole. Feeling Automatic has chiselled itself into my 2009 Top Five Records, and I confidently predict it ain't going anywhere in a hurry. And we're only up to early February! AND it's an EP. Bill Quinn, Trad and Now magazine, Artsound FM 92.7FM (Canberra) The Wells are a five piece Indie rock band from Brisbane who play laid back pop music with great big dirty smears of blues and country. These boys can really sing and their vocal harmonies and catchy melodies can be heard on radio stations across Australia as well as on two Starving Kid Records compilations and, for NAB employees, on internal promotional videos. Following the release of their debut EP, And now we can all die happy in 2007 their live appearances have included the Woodford Folk Festival (07/08 and 08/09), Greenfest '08 and Brisbane's Valley Fiesta. They have also supported bands including Something for Kate, Gaslight Radio and The Basics. Their music has received coverage on local, national and university radio stations and they were CD of the Week on Coast FM 96.3 in August 08 and online radio station Downunda Thunda featured artists in September 2008. Having just put the finishing touches to their second EP, Feeling Automatic, The Wells are spending 2009 spreading the love by playing a whole heap of live shows across Australia. The Wells are brothers Ben (vocals) and Josh Eckersley (drums), Shane 'Slim' Harrison (Guitar), Karl Sawczynski (piano) and Andrew Lye (bass).
