XCOAST is one of the most valuable and representative dj duo in Italy, formed by Raffaele Costantino (aka COSTA, a dj/producer, music consultant for Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, radio host, CEO of Snob production company) and Maurizio Bilancioni (aka KNUF a dj/producer, resident dj at Snob Night and Bastart venues in Rome). A unique and dinstinctive sound is their main quality, pushing the urban sound over the edge, through a special and original blend of electronic and hip hop beats. Their knowledge of djing and the high level of entertainment they reached, led them in continous search of new ways of performing, from a four decks dj set to innovative use of machines. So far they had a couple of LP released by independent italian labels, and a bunch of tunes remixed by important international artists as CLP (Chris De Luca and Phon.o), Alexander Robotnick and Donato Dozzy. The first release named ROUGH ENOUGH, is a mixture of IDM, Jazz and Funk and it gained important and positive reviews by journalists and music fans. The second issue NO EAST NO WEST confirmed the artistic evolution reached during the last years; 12 conscious tracks exploring new lands between Abstract Hip Hop and Electronica. Over the last 3 years XCOAST had relevant collaborations with considerable artists like RQM (the MC from The Tape, AL Haca and Jachooozi who featured in many live performances with them) Kill The Vultures from Minneapolis, Populous (MORR Music), Ziv Jacob (Teder Music); they played with Chris De Luca at Rialto, Brancaleone and Circolo degli Artisti (Rome). They had the chance to perform in festivals, clubs, theatres all around Europe: World Culture Fest in Dublin, Italian Institute of Culture in London, Adriantic of Barcelona featuring RQM just to name a few. They played in important clubs in Rome, Milan, , Zurich, Berlin, Dublin, Munich and Barcelona. Some of their special live project are â??Live synchâ?? of â??Il Ponte dei Sospiriâ?? at Massenzio abbey into the Imperial Forums, playing at NABA (Milan) and M.I.T. at Auditorium Parco della Musica (Rome) with Ziv Jacob. While on stage they shared the scene with artists like Beastie Boys, Michael Franti, Thievery Corporation, Groove Armada, Coldcut, Bugz In the Attic, Amon Tobin and many others.
